How to Create your own Convertible Car
Summer is in full swing but don’t you wish you had a convertible to drive around in? No need to spend money buying one as repairloader has come up with a great DIY infographic to turn your regular car into a convertible with only a couple of tools.
Theres a fair bit of strength in the car roof, so removing it will leave you with a significantly weakened vehicle. Factory convertibles are braced heavily in other places to compensate.
Doing this would be a very ffolish thing to try.
So how do you turn it back into a regular sedan? By definition, a “convertible” *CONVERTS* between an open-topped, and enclosed, car.
I tried removing the roof but you will need a hoist aswel to remove this.
It looks challenging but definitely a very good car project. My car would look great as a convertible and I hope we can pull this off. Thanks for posting this instruction.
It can be risky to remove car roof from yourself. You must see a specialist who can look over all the possibilities and you can keep your car away from any damage.

What they didn’t cover was the need to make a crossmember brace under the car or it will bend in the middle eventually.
