Theres a fair bit of strength in the car roof, so removing it will leave you with a significantly weakened vehicle. Factory convertibles are braced heavily in other places to compensate.
Doing this would be a very ffolish thing to try.

So how do you turn it back into a regular sedan? By definition, a “convertible” *CONVERTS* between an open-topped, and enclosed, car.

It looks challenging but definitely a very good car project. My car would look great as a convertible and I hope we can pull this off. Thanks for posting this instruction.

It can be risky to remove car roof from yourself. You must see a specialist who can look over all the possibilities and you can keep your car away from any damage.

I want to convert my Mitsubishi Lancer coupe to a convertible. I think it could be done, but I would get it done professionally if it was affordable. Does anyone know of a company in Perth who could do the job?

What they didn’t cover was the need to make a crossmember brace under the car or it will bend in the middle eventually.
