Anthill Website Of The Week — OzBargain!
Thanks to shosho who pointed out in this thread, OzBargain has just been named as Website Of The Week by Anthill, an magazine for the small business and start ups.
The average bargain is usually only valid for a few days, but there are enough posted on OzBargain every day to keep you coming back. I’m hooked. Check it out. You might even stumble upon an Anthill bargain or two…
Indeed. Anthill found us from their bargains posted on OzBargain. From the article:
We stumbled on OzBargain after one of its members stumbled on Anthill’s secret subscription offer and posted it for all the world to see. After scratching our heads, playing cat and mouse with them for about ten seconds and then shaking off a vague feeling of violation, it dawned on us that this was actually a brilliant website. We laid down our weapons.
Thanks for the recognition! When merchants found out that their deals have been posted on OzBargain, there are usually two different responses —
- “How dare you?! That was supposed to be the exclusive deal! Where’s the phone number to the lawyers?!”
- “Brilliant! Another vehicle to promote my product, and this is already a well targeted bargain hunting community!”
Guess which one I had to handle this morning? A bank called the affiliate network that I have not really been using (but I have this blog associated with the account there), and that affiliate network called me to pull down a nice deal posted a few weeks ago because it “contains misleading information”. And I complied, which you can see more discussions here. Haven’t we sent you enough new customers, Mr. Bank?!
Oh well. But those in Anthill definitely know their stuff — they are in the position of advising small business — because they know how much an online community can do for them. Looking forward for more subscription discount from these guys, because I think I might become a subscriber myself.
