You might have noticed that over the past few weeks, MoneyBackCo, whom I have reviewed 1 1/2 month ago, has been having a banner advertisement at the right-hand sidebar of this website. I am here to announce today that MoneyBackCo, Australia’s moneyback reward community, is now more than just a sponsor of OzBargain Blog. OzBargain and OzBargain Blog are now in partnership with MoneyBackCo, with an aim to bring more bargains and better deals to the community.

Who is MoneyBackCo?

I have previously reviewed MoneyBackCo here. They have since refreshed their design, graduated from the beta program, signed up more merchants and introduced a referral program.

MoneyBackCo calls itself “Australia’s moneyback community” by giving affiliation commissions back to its members. What differentiates MoneyBackCo from the rest is they are giving 100% commission back to its members — and you are only paying $10/year membership fee if you are getting back more than $10 moneyback.

Therefore I consider MoneyBackCo a great asset to the bargain hunting community in Australia.

Why Partnering with MoneyBackCo?

I decided to partner with MoneyBackCo after they have become a sponsoring advertiser here at OzBargain Blog. They were seeking to leverage the existing traffic of this blog site to generate more sign ups at MoneyBackCo.

However, after looking at how these two sites operate and a bit of thinking through, I believe OzBargain and MoneyBackCo can compliment each other and better serve the Australian bargain hunting community by join forces together. OzBargain invites the community to share the best deals around Australia, and MoneyBackCo, with its exposure to wide range of merchants/online stores, can add seasoning to those great deals by rebating the commissions, thus making them even greater deals!

What Will be Changed?

Probably not much initially. You will continue to see MoneyBackCo’s sign up banner at the right hand side of this web site — and don’t be surprised to see me actively recommending visitors to sign up and get full rebates from MoneyBackCo’s affiliated merchants.

You might also spot Steve from MoneyBackCo posting good deals at OzBargain. For example this Virgin Mobile moneyback deal — sign up Virgin Mobile pre-paid before 31 March and get $14 back! That means this Nokia 1110i Rock Sack pack will be only $45 after the moneyback, and you get an “indestructible” phone (I’ve got an older Nokia 1100 and a toddler at home, so I know), $10 Virgin Mobile credit, a 512Mb MP3 player and a cooler with speaker.

Hopefully we will see more great moneyback deals from Steve soon.

But that is more!! There will be functionalities added to OzBargain that utilise web-services implemented by MoneyBackCo. There will be plans to join the two communities. There will be more exciting features — all currently planned in our head. These will be revealed when they are ready.
