Check out their blog for details. With sweet deals like these, no wonder their dedicated server cannot cope with the surge of traffic.

Not that they have overloaded their warehouse with goodies. They have also overloaded their servers! Well, I am not going to talk about handling scalability problem over here but maybe both CotD and JetStar need to sign up classes on the new cloud computing.

i would have hoped that after 2 years of operation their server would be able to handle a day like today. i have not been able to get onto their site each hour until the last few minutes of the hour only to find the products sold out. quite annoying especially as im a regular to the site…
Yeah I feel the same Suzanne, I sent them an email to say they should give the regular uses some sort of special access or allow them to register their interest or something.
I suggested that for the catchathon tomorrow registered or regular membership should get first access to the catchathon.
I have spent over $3000 with Cotd over the past 6 months and am disappointed I can not even buy 1 thing today hah.
All well, great prices and I hope some people are happy =)
I am absolutely fed up with the service on COTD – after emailing you as a regular customer to make sure you go to their Birthday celebration today they make it impossible to get onto the site. Twice today after hours and hours of trying I managed to finally get to order the product on offer only to have the page crash while going through the payment gateway. Totally frustrating – I really never want to deal with them again so if anyone can advise a better site please let us all know!
I agree with AussieMark and Debbie. It has been a very frustrating day for me as I expereinced the same as you guys. I certainly will not be participating again tommorrow and if anyone can suggest a better site I would also appreciate the advice also.
I would be surprised if they had more than a couple of each item, I don’t know how anyone was able to slip through and get anything. Total waste of time.
