Acer AT3220B 32inch LCD TV $799 from OfficeWorks
Another great deal from OfficeWorks‘ Autumn Makeover sale (scroll down to the bottom of the page and there is a link to PDF file) –
Acer AT3220B 32 inch LCD TV for only $799 after $99 cashback from Acer.
- Resolution: 1366×768
- Brightness: 500 nits
- Contrast: 1200:1
- Input: HDMI (HDCP), D-Sub
Not only $799 for a 32inch HDTV-ready LCD TV is quite a bargain, it is also from a reputable brand. I cannot find the deal on their online store so I guess it is their B&M store only. At this price I do not think the stock will last very long.

i wonder if this tv can be used as a computer monitor….sounds like a good bargain.
It has both D-Sub, i.e. your usual VGA analogue connector, and HDMI input. Unfortunately it does not have DVI, but most high/medium-end graphics cards have HDMI output these days.
It would be awesome playing computer games on it, but at 768 vertical scan lines, it is not enough for me to do “real work” on it :)
That really is a fantastic offer!!
Some people have been complaining about these units humming with certain connection types - see http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=43524. I bought one and it’s been fine but I don’t appear to be using the connection types mentioned. Most stores have sold out quickly. None left at South Yarra (Vic) with no more expected. They had 8 at South Melbourne (Vic) Fri 4pm. But when I was there picking mine up on Saturday morning someone just bought one, so that means max. of 6 left.
Bought one last week and pretty happy with the value for money. You can extend the warranty to a Full 5 years by forgoing the Cash Back. Seems like a common ploy by Acer.
Hey Scott, that doesn’t actually sound correct. I’m not sure of any PC graphics cards that would come with HDMI, as HDMI is just DVI + Audio (which a graphics card obviously wouldn’t be computing).
The good news though, is that you could pick up a DVI to HDMI cable for a couple of dollars and use it that way, but then you would need to use another source for your audio.
Ben — you are absolutely right. Sorry my PC skillz is about 5 years old :( I have been using notebooks exclusively for the last 7 years, and the only “PC” I’ve built are headless servers so I have absolutely no idea what the latest trend in graphics card is :(
Thank you very much for correction.
I am living in launceston ,tasmania.

I picked one of these this week. I have been debating getting a new 32″ LCD TV for awhile. I couldn’t be more happy with it. Its hooked up to my mac and denon sound system and the picture is better than what you would expect at that prices( a viewing distance of 10 feet is recommended ).
It has all the connection that you would need for a modern entertainment system. ( yes it comes with a decent remote and the user set up is easy ). I am using a HDMI to DVI for the mac( with optical to the Denon ), S Video for the Foxtel, Component for DVD player, Composite for Video player and N64.
It was such a bargin 3 fellow work colleges and 2 friends bought one on my recommendation and I think that alone we cleaned out the shop. I just wish they gave us Acer t-shirts with the deal so we could of joined a club.
Hi Grant. I connected my Mac up to the TV via VGA @ 1360×768 (or similar - forget the exact numbers). When I play back content I get some weird output when playing back Video content at full screen (when there’s a lot of movement in a short time). Do you see this also with the HDMI? It could be the source file (DivX). Not yet tested with a DVD running through the Mac.
We have a mac mini hooked up via VGA to the Acer at the shop ( 1360 x 768 60Mhz). There was no issue in picture quality and settings. If you can, go the HDMI/DVI for the best results.
Be careful. I purchased this ACER model. ACER staff very rude and absolutely had no idea when I enquired on how to use the
PIP/PBP/POP feature. After I was abused and threatened to have my call terminated by “support” staff, I was put through to higher
level support. Was told that this feature was “not really working” and “not meant to do what is described”. “Sorry” about that”. ME TOO!
I also wrote to ACER support to ask what type of tuner is used, as my Sony HD STB required this manufacturers information to allow
the remote controller to function for the TV. ACER did not respond. When I asked “why not” (during this phone call), I was told that the
reason was “because nobody knew the answer.” ?? “Anyhow, it’s not that you bought a top of the range item” I was told.?.
When I complained about their pathetic attitude, I was warned that they will discontinue my call if I don’t stop yelling? I did not raise
my voice once. Was then escalated to higher level who were just patronising and absolutely useless.
Asked them to play the recording of this call back, to understand what had occurred. Also wrote to ACER Global twice. No reply.
has anyone tried to take the stand off?
I bought the acer 32″ from officeworks and can’t the stand off! I have called acer (and they don’t know) I have taken the two bottom screws out with the arrows and it won’t budge.
I have tried all the other screws too….still no hope. won’t even give a little bit.
anyone can help me??
Never ever buy any ACER products, no service , no spare parts , only desk monkys.
I agree with angao, I purchased ACER LCD just over 2 years ago, have searched high and low for main board, no one wants to help you and the part does not exist. I will never ever buy ACER Products again!!!!!!!!!
wow! i was thinking about buying one, not any more! thanks for the info guys.
