Aiko 81cm LCD TV Big W sale! In their latest catelogue, front page shows an “Aiko” 81cm/32inch LCD TV for $998. That has been the price range for cheap 26inch LCD TVs for a while, and now 32inch are at the same level. Specs from the catelogue:

Maybe it’s this company? (Although I can only see CRT TVs mentioned on their website - no LCDs.)

bought one today from Big W for only $798

Cheapest 32 LCD I have seen in Australia and I have been looking for another one for ages..

Packaging confirms this to be HDCP compliant which means you can play Blue Ray disks when the PS3 comes out (Soniqs make no mention of this capability) . Don’t be put off by the picture Q in the store as they don’t even show the tv’s running on SD let alone HD. I also bought a DGTEC HD set top box for only $99 from JBHI-FI (7020) and can tell you the picture is just marvellous watching the cricket on Chanel 9 HD.

I have 0 dead pixels can’t see any faults in this TV.

    Grab your self a bargain

They recently advertised the TV for $798 as well. Normal price. So looks like it’s the new price for it.

The $798 price is for a 66cm unit (not 81cm) from Big W.

Just bought one here in Perth at BigW $898. for the 81 cm Aiko set. I have plugged it in and have it running and must admit at this stage it looks pretty good. Haven’t worked all the way through the settings but did notice that it has a freeze frame button. It also for those that use it there is a teletex on it. Will later on run it through the boxtop to see if there is any difference. At least you can carry these TV’s by yourself or get the wife to do it for you.

I now have the 81cm Aiko TV working through the boxtop and I can not tell the difference between this TV and my 81cm Samsung that I paid $2800.00 for. Although if I had them side by side there might be a vast difference and I must admit that I don’t have the built in bells and whistles that the Samsung has like HDTV but as a second set just for the spare room you can not go past this one and they have a 12 months warranty. I did stumble across a BigW flyer from November 2006 and they were advertised at $998 and now in March 2007 $898.

I hope this helps someone who wanted to know a bit about these sets.

child lock on tv how do you release it?

I bought one (Soniq 32′) 3 days ago at JB HiFi, the reason I bought it because the picture quality, as they display still pictures and Live tv, Soniq has better quality and natural colour compare with other expensive brands, and just $799 is awsome. Go for it if you considered to buy one.

Just got a Sonic 32″ at JBHiFi on layby and looking over pic quality in-store, it looks great after some tweaking of picture qualities. I will definately look at a extended warranty from JB. Watch out for sales trick of setting cheaper monitors to poor settings so that u and i buy the more expensive brand…..

    Clarkson,
I recently bought this Sonix 32″ from JB aswell, what picture settings did you change ur’s to, to improve the picture quality?

  16. Gravatar

Set the picture mode in Vivid, it works for DVD movies, live Tv…etc. Try for yourself.
