TechaDay – Daily Tech Bargains at 11am
Update 10 August 2008: It appears that TechaDay is no more! From what I have heard that they have done a runner on some buyers. For more information please join the discussion in OzBargain forums.
Recently I have been notified yet another one deal a day site, but focusing on electronic gadgets — TechaDay.com.ay. From its FAQ page:
What is TechaDay?
Techaday is a internet-based store that only sells one electronic item a day, at a large quantity. Techaday will continue to sell that item until either it sells out, or the 24 hours ends. Buy any amazing product for an incredibly marked down price and get the latest technology everyday.
Melbourne-based Techaday is similar to sites like Woot, Zazz, CatchOfTheDay, etc, but no perfumes, no wine, no chocolate fountain — just electronic gadgets!
New item is sold for 24 hours, starting at 11am. So now through out the day, we have Zazz at 12am, 1-Day at 10am, Techaday at 11am and finally CatchOfTheDay at 12pm.
The site itself is pretty new, and they only accept PayPal payment at the moment, however there has been a few interesting products being offered. Hopefully they will continue to offer great one day items to keep us busy throughout the day (checking all different deal sites)./p>

I wonder why all these one deal a day sites operate out of Melbourne, more specifically Southeastern suburbs.
Been checking out dealextreme lately for strange gadgets, good deals and free shipping. The huge Whirlpool thread here. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=841238
@Neil — looking at the online business world in Australia, I’ll say there are more entrepreneurs in Melbourne than any other cities in Australia. Oh, and more entrepreneur wannabes as well :)
A bit off topic here, but I can’t seem to access the main page in ozbargain.com.au . Has anyone else got the same problem?
@John — server at Sydney was down between 6:45pm and 9:15pm. Sorry guys — not much I can do here. It is back up now.
