Thanks for bringing out Ebay as an example. Sometimes buying gadget from eBay, especially those posted from Hong Kong or China, can really be like gambling -- pay cheap price, and good luck! Not just that it might not arrive, it sometimes either doesn't arrive in one piece, or maybe in wrong pieces, and a lot of times in fake pieces ("Genuine" Sandisk SD Ultra, anyone?)

Sometime I forget to add is, a lot of shops are willing to do price matching, so you might be able to get cheap price at your favourite shops as well. But don't be too disappointed if they don't want to budge.

My strategy is to look for the cheapest price on the internet, and buy it from a trustworthy store (ask your friends where they shop and ask them what their experiences were). If it only costs $10 more then its well worth it. If theyre ripping you off big time then you can weigh up the risks of going to the cheapest store.

Ebay is another example of where this is really important. Many sellers sell the same product for a few bucks less from hong kong. But when you read their feedback its usually "product took ages to ship" or "produce never arrived". Why take the risk of getting ripped off to save a few bucks. If it sounds too good to be true, maybe it is...
