Apple Cart
Get Mac (applecart.com.au) seems to be a cheap place to buy a Mac in Australia. On its front-page it guaranteed 6% off Apple’s recommended retail price, and up to 15% off selected software and iPod accessories.
For example,
| Product | Get Mac | Apple Store |
|---|---|---|
| 12″ iBook 1.2Ghz | $1,503.06 | $1,599.00 |
| 15″ PowerBook 1.67Ghz | $3,430.06 | $3,649.00 |
| 20″ iMac 2Ghz | $2,627.29 | $2,795.00 |
| Mac OS X Tiger | $169.15 | $199.00 |
There is indeed a lot of saving. The site is quite slow comparing with Apple online store though, and there’s not much information on cost of delivery, as Apple on-line store offers free delivery. I persume that they will be free as well for it to claim being competitive against Apple’s RRP.

Target has Australia’s biggest Toy sale, starting on Thursday July 21.
Places to be in each state are: NSW, Bondi Junction. VIC, Geelong. SA Elizabeth. Target will be stocking both Robosapien and Roboraptor at reduced prices, as well as fantastic specials on iPod other games consoles and games, as well as an enormous range of Toys and Sporting goods.
SA stores open at 7am, best bet is to get in early because although Target’s more organised than everyone else, the stock will still sell out…
hmmm… the Apple Cart web-site seems to be down/gone/no longer
Looks like some kind of hosting interface to me. Still available under apple.cart.com.au, but definitely a bit flaky.
I found that Australian Style is behind AppleCart (same company behind Bottle Domains). Not a very reputable company last time I heard, but I don’t care if the price is cheap and they can deliver :)
